Wyoming, Air Force and BYU vs. Utah [en]

6 Feb

The Utah Utes Swimming and Diving Team had a 2 eventful weeks. After a relatively easy victory against the Wyoming Cowboys, the Utes went on to take down the U.S. Air Force Falcons and were only stopped by the BYU Cougars in a nail-biting confrontation.
Throughout history the cowboys demonstrated to be the stronger foes in the prairie, the Utah Utes however didn’t give them a chance on the last match-up of the to natural enemies, they figuratively scalped them.
The Utah swimming team only one day of rest before they took on one of the top ranked teams of the MWC (Mountain West Conference). The meet was even throughout the whole day, and it was thanks to Seamus Alger that the University of Utah took the lead. He out touched 3 of the best 400IM’ers in the conference after an electrifying finish.
Only the Cougars coming from the Brigham Young University managed to stop the fury and take the victory away from the Utes.

The past few weeks were exciting and the team that competed in the Ute Natatorium was seemingly not the same that swam against TCU. A little change in the cheering routine and the small home field advantage, awoke the temper that was needed to compete at that high level. Eventhough they had to accept the loss against BYU, they definitely showed what they are capable of, and one can only look forward to the showdown at the MWC Championship meet that will be held in Oklahoma City two weeks from now.

UTAAAAAAAAAAAHH
